Melnik is a town in the Czech Republic, Central Bohemian Region. It lies at the confluence of the Labe and Vltava rivers, approximately 35 km north of Prague. The town was built on top of a small mountain which has a great view over the whole valley and the rivers.

The Mělník castle is one of the most important sights in the town. The castle is built in the Renaissance style and features arcades in the north and south part of the castle and large wine cellars below.

The Mělník square is also an important historical sight. In the middle of the square there is the fountain with group of statues called "Wintage" created by Vincent Makovský. On the square there are many originaly Gothic houses rebuilt in the Baroque style. On the north-eastern part of the square stand the Renaissance city hall and Baroque Kapucín cloister.
