Grenada

Grenada is the most southerly of the Windward Islands; its capital, St George’s, is on the southwest coast and is considered to be the perfect cruise port. There is immediate access to the city from the cruise terminal, the best beach is only minutes away, the shopping is excellent and the oceanfront is packed with shops and restaurants.

Grenada has over 45 pristine white and black sandy beaches. The world renowned Grand Anse Beach is 3 miles of fine white sand in a calm sheltered bay and is located in the south-western side of the island, where most of the hotels are located.

Grenada is described as a spice island, for it produces large quantities of cloves and mace and about a third of the world’s nutmeg. It also grows cacao, sugar, bananas and a wide variety of other fruit and vegetables.

The majority of the tourist facilities are on the island’s southwest tip, but the rest of the island is beautiful, rising from a generally rugged coast to a spectacular mountainous interior.
