Da Nang is Vietnam's third largest city, and is located on the South China Sea coast, midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is located within 100 km of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Imperial City of Huế, the Old Town of Hội An, and the Mỹ Sơn ruins.

Attractions in Da Nang include the Cham Museum which houses a collection of stone sculptures from the Hindu-practicing Cham civilization. Many relics have come from the nearby My Son sanctuary. A visit to the Marble Mountains 9km south of Da Nang is popular. There are several Buddhist temples built into caves and grottoes.
