Isle of Man

Located along the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man lies halfway between England and Northern Ireland, and its wooded hills and jagged coastline offer some of the country's most spectacular scenery.

The Isle of Man is unique today in that it has its own Parliament, and its Lower House is the oldest Parliament in the world.

The Isle of Man has been inhabited since before 6500BC and was once occupied by Celts who left behind Iron Age forts and huts.

The diverse scenic beauty and many leisurely activities of this island have made it a popular tourist destination. Some of the most famous activities involve motor sports and include the TT (Tourist Trophy motorcycle race), Southern 100, and Manx Grand Prix.

Two domestic animals specifically connected to the Isle of Man are the Manx cat and the Manx Loaghtan sheep.
