Con Dao Island is located in the Con Dao archipelago in southeastern Vietnam, approximately 230 km from Ho Chi Minh City. The group includes sixteen islands with the largest being Con Son Island, famous for its prison built by the French colonial government. The islands have a grim history which can learn about at the museum in the old French Governor's house.
