Pulau Misool, Raja Ampat

Pulau Misool is one of the four major islands located in the Raja Ampat archipelago, off the northwest tip of Bird's Head Peninsula on the island of New Guinea, in Indonesia's West Papua province. It is an archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands, cays and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo, and the smaller island of Kofiau.

Pulau Misool is known for its many caves, caverns and gigantic rock formations. The island is surrounded by a huge diversity of marine life, with perhaps the richest coral reef ecosystems in the world. It is therefore a popular area for scuba diving and snorkeling.
