Rotuma, Fiji

Rotuma is an island in Fiji. Rotuma is rugged, carpeted with lush vegetation, and fringed by white sandbeaches and coral reefs. Rotuma consists of one large island and a number of islets that lie offshore. The highest point on the main island is Mt. Suelhof (256 meters). The interior of the island is comprised of gardens and bushland, with coconut trees in abundance.

What makes Rotuma unique from the rest of Fiji is that the culture and people here are more Polynesian than Melanesian. Rotumans are proud of their unique culture and village life here is very different from the rest of Fiji . Life is laidback and relaxed out here, with some of the best beaches on the island found along Rotuma’s southern coast. Motusa, Juju, Noatau and Oinafa, are all great beaches.
