Normandy, France

Normandy is situated along the English Channel coast of Northern France between Brittany (to the west) and Picardy (to the east) and comprises territory in northern France and the Channel Islands. The principal cities in Normandy are Rouen, Caen, Le Havre and Cherbourg. It is best known for the D-Day Allied invasion on June 6, 1944.

Normandy is divided into two main areas; Upper and Lower Normandy. The division is a natural one; the Seine River. People visit Upper Normandy for the Scenery, Lower Normandy for the History and Cities. There are many castles and attractive villages spread all over the province.
