Orion Reef is located approximately 50 kms east of Lockhart River, on the outer fringe of the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia. The reef only surfaces at low tide, submerging into the sea at high tide. Here visitors will find crystal clear waters and a dazzling array of tropical marine life and amazing coral formations.

Port Location – Cruises to Orion Reef depart from Cairns. Cairns Seaport is the closest port to the Great Barrier Reef and is located on Trinity Inlet. It is a picturesque port, with passenger terminals and marina facilities located virtually in the central business district.

Travel Links – The Cairns International Airport is located only several minutes drive north of the city centre. Direct flights are available to and from Cairns from most eastern states.
