Dakhla, Morocco

Dakhla is a city in southern Western Sahara. It is the capital of the Moroccan administrative region Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira and is built on a narrow peninsula of the Atlantic Coast about 550 km south of El Aaiún (Laayoune).

The city of Dakhla is surprisingly pleasant with white houses, lots of friendly people and a maze of streets. Attractions include a trip out to the old Spanish light house, or down along the shores towards the tip of the peninsula, along with long walks around the many crowded streets.
