Pozzallo is a town and the only coastal city in the province of Ragusa, Sicilia, Italy. It is also a major port, located 33 km’s from Ragusa, which creates the link between Sicily and Malta. The importance of Pozzallo goes back to the 14th century, when it was a strategic military and commercial outpost for the County of Modica.
The old quarter of Pozzallo is one of the most picturesque sides of town, thanks to its narrow, cosy streets. Other attractions include the Torre Cabrera, built by Giovanni Bernardo Cabrera in 1429. Right behind it, stands the Palazzo Musso, a beautiful building in the liberty-style, dating from 1926. The Villa Tedeschi, rising in the very town centre, is also worth-mentioning. A group of salty ponds, in the environs of Pozzallo, are a must-see for bird-watchers.

Port Location –The port of Pozzallo is located at the Western end of the town, about a twenty minute walk from the Piazza della Rimenbranza.
Travel Links - The ferry to Valletta in Malta runs to the Port at the Western end of town. It’s a twenty minute walk from the city centre about 3km from Piazza della Rimenbranza. The service is run by Virtu Ferries. The Catamaran takes 90 mins. A brief note, as with all Catamaran services, even on calm days the crossing can be choppy.
Buses stop on Piazza della Rimenbranza on Corso Vittorio Vento. AST Buses top here on the Syracuse to Ragusa route. It should cost about €4.50 to each of these terminus.
Trains depart infrequently from the Station, located at the end of Via Giuseppe Mazzini about 10 mins from Piazza della Rimenbranza. The Station looks derelict and is free from any amenities.
