Tulagi, Solomons

Tulagi, less commonly Tulaghi, is a small island in the Solomon Islands, just off the south coast of Florida Island. The town of the same name on the island was the capital of the Solomon Islands Protectorate from 1896 to 1942, and is today the capital of the Central Province. Tulagi was the original capital of the Solomons, but was severely damaged during WWII. It was replaced by Honiara after the war.

Tulagi is famous as a scuba diving destination. There are several notable wrecks in the area, as well as many interesting reefs and underwater features.
