Port Fitzroy, Great Barrier Is.

Port Fitzroy is located on Great Barrier Island, a large island of New Zealand, situated 90 km to the north-east of central Auckland in the outer Hauraki Gulf. It is the fourth-largest island of New Zealand's main chain of islands, though its highest point, Mount Hobson, rises only 621 m.

Port Fitzroy is one of the best natural harbours in New Zealand, with numerous bays and inlets. It has always been a mecca for yachts, launches and commercial craft. There are many interesting spots around the harbour, including WWII fortifications, pioneer graveyards and tidal creeks. Sea kayaks are available for hire.
