Hrensko, Czech Republic

Hrensko is a small village of approximately 320 inhabitants in the Usti nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic on the border to Germany. It is situated on the confluence of Kamenice and Labe rivers and was established during 15th century as a trading location.

Hrensko is a picturesque village situated in a valley, which is on both sides surrounded by high walls of rock walls. The town is a base for visiting nearby Ceske Svycarsko National Park, including a gorge through which the Kamenice River flows and the Pravčická brána, the largest natural rock bridge on the continent.

Travel Links - Another possibility is to go by train – it´s more comfortable to use Intercity or Eurocity train. Once you get to Decin, you can either change for the bus line Decin – Hrensko – Mezni louka or take the train to the village Schona where you change for the ferry which is just opposite Hrensko over the river. From Hrensko you can walk many signed touristic trails.

There are some bus companies operating lines from Prague. There are usually direct lines with stops in Lovosice and Ustí nad Labem.

Another interesting way of transport is to go by ship. Decin´s port is approximately 1 km from the railway station, on the right bank of the Elbe river. In Dresden the dock is opposite the Opera house.
