Acajutla is a seaport and municipality in Sonsonate Department, El Salvador. The town is located on the Pacific Coast of Central America and is El Salvador's principal seaport. The city lies several miles east of San Salvador, capital of the republic of El Salvador. From here you can visit Chalchuapa, home to the Mayan ruins of Tazumal.

Acajutla is a small town which is popular for its beautiful beaches. Los Cabanos beach in the Port of Acajutla is popular with divers and surfers. Other attractions include deep sea and reef fishing, canopy tours of the forests of Apaneca and trips to the Izalco Volcano, located 34 kilometres inland from Acajutla.
