Baie-Commeau, Quebec

Baie-Comeau is a town located approximately 420 kilometres (260 mi) north-east of Quebec City in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River near the mouth of the Manicouagan River.

Baie-Comeau itself is still an industry town with the paper mill (Abitibi-Consolidated Inc.), one of the worlds largest aluminum plants (Alcoa), and various power generating facilities on the Rivière Manicouagan and Rivière aux Outardes operated by Hydro-Quebec. The town is broken up into two main sectors, Marquette (formerly Baie-Comeau) and Mingan (formerly the town of Hauterive). Marquette is the more historical and visually pleasing part of town.
