St Eustatius, Netherland Antilles

Sint Eustatius, affectionately called Statia, is named after the legendary Catholic Saint Eustace. It is one of the islands making up the Netherlands Antilles; it is in the northern, Leeward Islands portion of this territory, to the east of the Virgin Islands. The capital and only town on Statia is Oranjestad. Together with sister islands Saba and St. Maarten, Statia forms the Windward Islands of the Dutch Caribbean.

Statia is rich in history with exotic historical sites of the seventeen century, wonderful hiking, world class diving, kayaking, bird watching and snorkeling over the ruins and walls of the seventeen and eighteen century. It is a warm, peaceful and relaxing, just the place to unwind. The prestigious and authentic and award winning St Eustatius museum is worth a visit.
