Hamina, Finland

Hamina is a town and a municipality of Finland. It is located 150 kilometers east of Finland's capital city of Helsinki and 250 kilometers west of St. Petersburg, Russia. Hamina is also one of the most important harbours of Finland. The port specialises in forest products and transit cargo to Russia.

Hamina is a 350-year-old town with a circular town plan and an old star-shaped fortress surrounding the town centre. The circular streets are lined by old wooden buildings, churches representing various architectural styles, houses of former influential merchant families as well as a wide park area which constitutes part of the fortress
