Flinders Group National Park, Qld

The Flinders Island Group comprises seven islands that lie off Cape Melville in Princess Charlotte Bay, approximately 350km north of Cairns.

Of the seven islands in the group, the two larger islands, Stanley and Flinders Islands, are rugged continental islands. The other islands in the group include Clack, Maclear, Denham, Blackwood and King.

Enjoy magnificent scenery, rugged escarpments, cliffs, eucalyptus forests, and sheltered bays at Flinders Group National Park. The islands' slopes are covered in woodlands, mixed vine thickets, open heath and grasslands. Salt flats and mangrove forests occur in intertidal areas. Fringing reefs and highly diverse seagrass meadows surround the islands. The island group supports a variety of land and seabirds.
