Plock, Poland

Plock is a city in central Poland, on the Vistula river. The first kings of Poland took up residence here in the 11th century. It is a quiet town, largely undiscovered by tourists. It is of special interest to fans of Art Nouveau.

Plock boasts a medieval town centre, a cathedral from the 12th century; a gothic castle of the Mazovian dukes, now a museum with an impressive collection from Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, and a Dominican Church and Monastery, from the 13th century.
There is also a nice walk along the Vistula river promenade which guarantees great views.
