Norfolk Island

Norfolk island is an Australian territory in the South Pacific Ocean. It is located 1600 km east of Sydney and Brisbane and 1000 km northwest of Auckland. It has a colourful convict history with historic attractions such as museums, the penal settlement and the culture arising from the Bounty mutineers and their Tahitian wives, who settled on Norfolk after the mutiny of the HMS Bounty.

Around one third of the Island is devoted to National Parks offering great opportunites for walking and mountain biking. There is dramatic coastal scenery, untouched beaches, coral lagoons, great restaurants and cafes and one of the world’s most scenic golf courses.

The waters surrounding Norfolk Island are great for fishing with fishing charters and boat cruises available to visitors. There is amazing coral and fish life for scuba divers, with dive courses also available. Inside the lagoon of Emily and Slaughter Bays you can enjoy safe swimming and snorkeling, beyond the reef.
