Pulau Pangkor is an island off the coast of Perak in north-west peninsular Malaysia, about 100 km west of Ipoh and halfway between Kuala Lumpur and Penang. It is a popular local resort with some of the west coast's prettiest and most tranquil beaches, authentic Malaysian fishing villages that have changed little in 50 years, and some great local food (especially the seafood).
The main attraction on Pangkor island are the beaches, however other attractions include Pangkor Town, Fishing villages, Fu Lin Kong Temple, Batu Bersurat and Tiger Rock, Dutch Fort, The Tombs and Tortoise Hill.
