Ahe, Tuamotu Islands

Ahe is an almost entirely-enclosed coral atoll, located in the northern Tuamotu Archipelago, just 14 Km to the west of Manihi, in French Polynesia. Ahe Atoll's ring shape is broken by only a single small passage into the lagoon. The only village in Ahe is Tenukupara which is located on an island in the south side of the Atoll.

Ahe is an island of spectacular color. From the endemic Atoll Fruit-dove, to exotic black pearls, to the magnifent lagoon, it seems as though no creature has been overlooked by Nature’s paintbrush. Diving, snorkeling, and glass bottom boat excursions will showcase the vast profusion of marine life and living labyrinth of corals found beneath the surface. There are several pearl farms in Ahe's lagoon. Ahe has a domestic airport which was inaugurated in 1997.
