Kas, Turkey

Kaş is a small fishing, yachting and tourist town, and a district of Antalya Province of Turkey, 168km west of the city of Antalya. Situated among towering vertical cliffs, Kas is the region’s second major resort. While Kas lacks broad stretches of beach, the dramatic rocky coastline, clear and unpolluted Mediterranean waters, abundance of outdoor activities, and a lively nightlife make it a popular holiday destination.

Kas has a very tiny beach, less than 10 metres wide. However it does have wonderful rock shelves for sea bathing. These are populated by cafes and restaurants. It is the centre for glass-bottomed boat trips to the sunken cities around Kekova Island from where remains of mysterious civilisations can be viewed just below the surface of the water, and visits can be arranged to the surrounding archaeological sites at Demre, Myra and the Xanthos Valley.
